Relationships and Spiritual Awakening

Question: I was listening to Eckhart Tolle describe the spiritual awakening process and how relationships may change or fall away after a person goes through this awakening. He said that we need to let go of expectations that those around us will also awaken as a result of being near our energy and feeling that expansion in our spiritual lives. I asked Yeoshua and Mary Magdalene–what do you have to say about relationships in this type of situation?

Ahhh--relationships...

Ahhh--relationships...

YEOSHUA: We have much to learn in our relationships with each other. We are to realize that they are perfect just as they are. There is nothing you need to change or expect to change in the other person. They are arriving into this day just as they need to be right now. It is all perfect just as it is. Know this and you can let go of the rest. Just move through each day. Don’t worry about tomorrow or the next day or last year or a week ago. Live in the now.

Eckhart Tolle describes this process in great detail. Maybe you should read his book, The Power of Now. This is all we have. Now. The present. It is indeed a gift. We often spend so much time and energy worrying about relationships—about things that happened in the past or might happen in the future. Trust your intuition about what to do today. Trust your intuition about what plans to make tomorrow because you do have to plan for tomorrow. Even though you are living in the present. I understand this. Just trust your intuition now about what to do tomorrow. And it will all be perfect. Life is unfolding as it should. Let it go.

MARY MAGDALENE: Relationships –ah, relationships. They can be good, bad, enlightening, frustrating, hurtful, and exhausting as well as joyful, uplifting, and the best thing on earth. That is why they are the perfect vehicle for learning new things, new behaviors, and new lessons about ourselves and our experience on this earth. Everything is in relationship. The earth is in relationship with the Sun and the moon and the other planets. It is all about balance. We need to achieve balance.

Keep your internal balance.

Keep your internal balance.

Deepak Chopra wrote on his blog about maintaining your internal peace when faced with someone who intentionally sets out to hurt you. This is really about balance. You are in control of your own internal balance no matter what the world or another person throws at you. No matter what is happening in a relationship, your internal balance is your responsibility—always. There is no exception to this. We are each responsible for our experience on this earth—be it good, bad, a waste of time, or something extraordinary. It is ours to own and to nurture. No one can take away your internal experience of this life. That is yours and yours alone. I find this perspective helpful especially when we feel like someone is doing something to us in a relationship. Let it go. You get to decide how to feel about it. That’s the key.
