I asked Yeoshua and Mary Magdalene the following question: What do I need to know about the nature of giving and receiving?
Yeoshua: Giving and receiving—these are important topics for this new year of 2009. I’m glad you have brought them to my attention. You see giving is such an act of life that it is oft forgotten as an act of spirituality and spiritual awakening. It is the act of giving life. This is one the largest ways to give and mothers do it every day. It’s a miracle—truly.
Now here is what I wish to say. I gave my heart to Mary and she received it. This is another miracle. We take it for granted after years of marriage that our partner has given us their love and their life to us. Accept and receive this gift every day and give thanks. Be reverent of the gifts in your life. There are so many. A large part of giving and receiving is being thankful for what we have already. If we are not thankful, it can stop the flow of energy in the process of giving and receiving. Thankfulness or gratitude is the first step in the process of giving and receiving as you will see.
Next, is the giving. You must give freely of your heart when you give to another human being. You must not hold anything back or have any misgivings about what you are giving. Do not fret about whether the other person will like it or appreciate it. Give with no strings attached, Do you understand? This is very important. If you give and you have a twinge of regret in you heart, you will not fully reap the benefits of the act of giving. Not that you have to give in order to receive. This is the not the only reason for giving. We give because if makes us feel good. It gives us a lightness of heart. It warms us up inside. But if you are working on manifesting more in your life, then giving is the second step in receiving more in your life.
The third step is then receiving. We do not always receive well. Some feel they do not deserve it and may not allow the gift to even come to them. We need to open our minds and hearts to receive. Just as you open your heart during meditation to receive guidance, you must also open your heart to receive abundance in your life. There is a vulnerability that must be recognized when you open yourself up to receive. This is normal and this state of openness can seem scary at first and may be uncomfortable but it becomes normal with practice.
Receiving is something to be learned although we may not have looked at it that way before. Learn to accept. Meditate on the easy and graceful act of receiving abundance in your life. Visualize yourself receiving with an open heart and open hands and feeling comfortable and deserving in the act of receiving. This will go far in opening up the art of manifestation for each and every one of you. I hope this helps you in your journey. God bless, Yeoshua.
Mary Magdalene: Yes, it is a sacred act—giving and receiving. And it is so often done without thoughtfulness and appreciation. This is really too bad. When someone offers you a gift, large or small, material or just advice, take it with grace and offer thanks. It is a beautiful thing to receive with grace. Again, like Yeoshua said, practice this art of receiving in your mind’s eye so that you too will do it well. The better you receive, the more you will manifest in your life. You also need to perform the other steps of gratitude and giving, but be prepared to receive.
Giving allows the energy to flow freely. If you find the energy is stuck, it is time to start giving and to enter into meditation and be grateful for what you already have. This is an extremely important lesson in this lifetime for those of you reading this. Namasté, Mary.
